The challenge
Butterfly's intelligent indoor air quality platform had proven itself in controlled settings, but buyers in healthcare and education needed evidence from real buildings. The kind of large-scale live trial that is expensive and hard to fund privately.
What we did
- Targeted an SBRI Phase 3 competition designed precisely for validation at scale in live public-sector environments.
- Framed the proposal around energy efficiency and health outcomes together, the two criteria assessors weighted most heavily.
- Wrote the trial design, work packages and deployment plan across hospital and school sites.
The result
Butterfly won SBRI Phase 3 funding to run large-scale trials in live hospital and school environments, generating the independent evidence base required for public-sector procurement.
